Oakland Youth Football Is Supported By A Super Passionate Local Coach & Trainer

Oakland is home to a ton of top players such as Marshawn Lynch and Maurice Jones-Drew.  Footwork Specialist and Sports Performance Trainer, Joe Jointer is helping to make sure that Oakland keeps up with its elite-level football talent.  Joe has also served as the Offensive Coordinator for Castlemont High School football team for the past few years.

We had the opportunity to drop in on a youth and high school football camp that Coach Jointer was hosting at Castlemont High School this past summer.  With about 40 Oakland area athletes in attendance, we witnessed the camaraderie that Coach Jointer, along with Chris Little, has built in the under-served Oakland Area.

Coach Jointer truly understands how to get his athletes to move the right way on the field such that they can be more effective playmakers.  A lot of people train with cones and ladders, but Coach Jointer knows how to set up drills that simulate real gameday movements.

During the camp, the football athletes started up doing agility and footwork drills to warm up their bodies before transitioning to position-specific technique and movement drills. The camp was capstoned with a 1-on-1 session where the athletes had the opportunity to showcase their skills against live competition.
