NFL Approves Penalty For Kneeling During National Anthem

Whoa - this is a big one.  On Wednesday, NFL owners voted to approve that a 15-yard penalty be for enforced if players were to kneel during the US National Anthem. If players do not want to participate in the national anthem, they may remain in the locker room without any penalties.

For those of you unacquainted, Colin Kaepernick set off a nationwide firestorm for kneeling during the national anthem as a protest against specific instances of police brutality and perceived racial unjustice.  His actions initiated somewhat of a national divide, and he was ultimately blackballed from the NFL.  Many NFL players and other national figures supported him in his actions, but he had his fair share of dissenters with the opposite viewpoint.

Below is the official statement from the NFL.  What are your thoughts? Is the NFL limiting a freedom of expression? Let us know in the comments!
