Irvine Chargers send 3 teams to SYFL Playoffs

In Irvine’s first season as the only Orange County chapter of the Snoop Youth Football League (SYFL), they sent all three of their SYFL teams (11u, 12u, and 14u) to compete in postseason playoffs. Both 11u and 12u beat their first round opponents to advance to the semi-finals.

The 11u Irvine Chargers “Savage Squad” played a close game against the Baldwin Hills Bruins also known as “The Mob”. This was their third matchup this season. Baldwin Hills squeaked out the victory 12-9 to punch their ticket to the Snooperbowl and face the Long Beach Patriots aka “The Regulators” on December 2nd.

The SYFL Snooperbowl will also feature the 12u Irvine Chargers vs the Southbay Spartans, also known as the “Whitehouse”. Irvine beat the Inglewood Chargers in a second matchup this season to earn their spot at the Snooperbowl. The first time the two Chargers went head-to-head, the Inglewood Chargers came out on top. But when it counted, the Irvine Chargers came away with the win, giving them the opportunity to face “Whitehouse”, one of the top 12u teams in the nation.

Not a bad showing for the first season competing in SYFL!
