St. John Bosco Dominates Serra to advance to CIF-SS Division 1 Quarterfinals

St. John Bosco beat the Serra Cavaliers 49-0 in a complete effort that propelled the Braves into the quarterfinals. St. John Bosco will play on the road next week against San Clemente.

The Serra Cavaliers had a difficult time getting any production against the Bosco Braves defensive line. The score was 21-0 at halftime as St. John Bosco established their dominance early with D.J. Uiagalelei getting production all over the field. He completed 75 percent of his throws for 255 yards and four “house calls” (touchdowns), each to a different receiver. Running back George Holani had 165 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns.

The Serra Cavaliers averaged almost 304 passing yards a game prior to last night, but they were not able to really get any type of offensive production going against the Braves. Bosco cornerback Trent McDuffie intercepted a pass late in the third quarter in a fluky kind of way in his elbow. The Serra Cavaliers were having that type of night all night.

St. John Bosco, the #1 seed in the CIF-SS Division 1 bracket are set to battle San Clemente next week.
